	Location: I-95/495N (Outer Loop) ramp to Telegraph Road S.
	Action: Closing left thru to Huntington Avenue E for drainage installation.

	Date:	08/18, 08/22	Time:	9:30 am -3:30 pm (M) 9:00 am - Noon (F)
	Location: I-95/495S (Inner Loop) between the WW Bridge & ramp to Route 1S.
	Action: Closing right lane for guardrail installation.

	Date:	08/18 - 08/19	Time:	9:00 pm -5:00 am (M-T)
	Location: I-95/495S (Inner Loop) between the WW Bridge  to west of Route1.
	Action: Closing the two (2) left lanes for overhead bridge painting.

	Date:	08/19 - 08/21	Time:	9:00 pm -5:00 am (T-TH)
	Location: I-95/495S (Inner Loop) ramp to Route1N.
	Action: Closing ramp for guardrail installation.
	Detour: Use ramp to Telegraph Rd. S to I-95/495 N (Outer Loop) to Route 1N.

	Location: I-95/495S (Inner Loop) between the WW Bridge  to west of Route1.
	Action: Closing the two (2) right lanes for overhead bridge painting.

	Location: Route 1N&S between Huntington Avenue & Franklin Street.
	Action: Closing alternating lanes, one lane at a time for various construction activities.

	Location: Route 1N between the I-95/495 overpass& Franklin Street.
	Action: Closing alternating lanes, maintaining one lane of traffic at all times for a paving & roadway striping operation.

	Date:	08/20 - 08/22	Time:	9:00 pm -5:00 am (W-F)
	Location: Route1S ramps to I-95/495N&S (Inner & Outer Loops).
	Action: Closing ramps for a paving & roadway striping operation.
	Detour: Route 1S to Huntington Avenue W to Telegraph Rd. N to I-95/495 N&S (Inner & Outer Loops).

     Alexandria City:

	Date:	08/18 - 08/20	Time:	9:00 pm -5:00 am (M-W)
	Location: Franklin Street E between Route 1 & Alfred Street.
	Action: Closing all lanes for a paving & roadway striping operation.
	Detour: Route 1N to Duke Street E to Washington Street.

     Fairfax County:

	Date:	08/18 - 08/22	Time:	9:30 am - 3:00 pm (M-TH) 9:00 am - Noon (F)
	Location: Huntington Ave. E between Route 1 & Fort Hunt Road.
	Action: Closing alternating lanes, one lane at a time for various construction activities.

	Date:	08/18 - 08/21	Time:	9:30 am - 3:00 pm (M-TH)
	Location: Telegraph Road S between the I-95/495 overpass & Farmington Drive.
	Action: Closing right lane for various construction activities.

	Location: Huntington Ave. W between Kathryn Street & Telegraph Rd.
	Action: Closing alternating lanes, one lane at a time in each direction, maintaining one lane of traffic at all times for drainage installation.

	Location: .Van Dorn Street N ramp to I-95/495N (Outer Loop).
	Action: Closing right lane on the ramp for utility work.

	Location: Telegraph Road N between North Kings Highway & Huntington Avenue.
	Action: Closing right lane & right turn lane to huntington Avenue E for utility work.

	Location: I-95/495N&S (Inner & Outer Loops) between the Washington Street Urban Deck & I-295.
	Action: Closing the left & right shoulders in each direction with fifteen (15) minute total stoppages of traffic after midnight for bridge testing.

     Oxon Hill:

	Date:	08/18 - 08/22	Time:	9:00 am - 3:00 pm (M-F)
	Location: Livingston Road E&W at the I-95/495 overpass.
	Action: Closing alternating lanes, one lane at a time in each direction for overhead bridge work.

	NB I-95 Lane Shift (MB-4): Shift all NB I-95 (OL) traffic onto OLL between MD 210 and MD 414 interchanges. Number of lanes will remain unchanged.	September 2008

 

	Opening of Ramp from I-95/495 to Pershing Street ( VB-2/3/6): Direct access from I-95/495 SB to Pershing Street without merging with traffic on Telegraph Road NB.	Mid September 2008

 

	Opening of I-95 SB Express Lanes (MA-4, MB-4, VA 6/7, VB-2/3/6): Opening of two through lanes on the Beltway IL Express between Livingston Road & Telegraph Road.	October 2008

 

	Opening of I-95 NB Express Lanes (MA-4, MB-4, VA 6/7, VB-2/3/6): Opening of two through lanes on the Beltway OL Express between Telegraph Road & MD-210.	November 2008

FHWA's "Safety Tips to Live By"

Stay alert and give full attention to the roadway. Pay close attention to signs and work zone flaggers. Turn on headlights so workers and other drivers can see your vehicle. Do not tailgate. Do not speed. Slow down to the posted speed limits. Keep up with traffic flow. Do not change lanes in work zones. Minimize distractions in vehicles. Avoid changing radio stations and using mobile phones in work zones.

    How to Avoid Being An Aggressive Driver

• Allow more travel time to get to your destination. It reduces stress dramatically.
• Come to a full stop at red lights and stop signs. Never run yellow lights.
• Let other drivers merge with you.
• Obey posted speed limits.
• Don't ever follow other drivers too closely.
• Resist temptation to teach someone "a lesson".
• Concentrate on driving - not on cell phones, stereo, passengers or other distractions.
• Remember that you can't control traffic - but you can control yourself, your driving, and your emotions.

    How to Avoid Aggressive Drivers

• Get out of their way and steer clear of them on the road.
• Stay relaxed. Remember that reaching your destination safety and calmly is your goal.
• Don't challenge them. Avoid eye contact. Ignore rude gestures and refuse to return them.
• Give them the benefit of the doubt. Not all aggressive driving behavior is intentional.
• Don't block the passing lane, especially if you are driving slower than most of the traffic. Move over to the right lane.
• Dial #77 on a cell phone to report aggressive drivers or call your local police, when you can.
