Motorists Urged to Choose Alternate Routes

As part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project, weather permitting, lanes and associated ramps in the Telegraph Road interchange area of the Capital Beltway I-95/495 will be closed during the week of January 24 for bridge and barrier work.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid expected delays. The scheduled work is as follows:

Sunday, Jan. 24 between 12 a.m. to 11 p.m.:

  • Ramp from the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) THRU lanes to Mill Road/ Eisenhower Avenue will be closed for barrier work.
    • Detour: Take the ramp to the Eisenhower Connector to Eisenhower Avenue east or west.

Monday, Jan. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 26 overnight between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning:

  • The Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be reduced to one lane between east of Telegraph Road and the Metro overpass for overhead bridge work.

Monday, Jan. 25 through Wednesday, Jan. 27 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.:

  • Ramp from the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) to Telegraph Road South will be closed for overhead bridge work.
    • Detour: Take the ramp to U.S. Route 1 South to Huntington Avenue West to Telegraph Road South.

Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
